EmploymentCheck: Building a Smarter, Fully Connected, In‑House Screening Platform

Written by HR Connect | Jun 16, 2026 1:44:18 PM

EmploymentCheck is evolving rapidly, not just as a preemployment screening tool, but as an increasingly important part of HR Connect’s wider offer. As the platform develops, it is helping us create a more joinedup service that gives customers a smoother experience, stronger oversight, and greater confidence that their processes will work effectively together.

At the heart of this progress is HR Connect’s continued investment in its systems team, bringing together the functional, operational and technical expertise needed to shape EmploymentCheck around realworld needs while supporting stability, resilience and continuous improvement.

Our in-house team is actively shaping the platform alongside customers, turning feedback and operational insight into practical improvements that make the service easier to use, more effective and better aligned to customer needs.

New Enhancements Delivered This Year

In 2026, EmploymentCheck has already seen substantial system enhancements for our customers, including:

  • Upgraded Digital ID Verification: Using the latest technology to create a smoother, more reliable identitychecking experience, supported by a new webhook process that reduces early session closures.
  • Improved User Experience: Enhancements across our DBS platform, references, and righttowork processes to support simplified workflows, strengthened validation, and embedded accessibility features to support all users.
  • Regular Release Cycles: With increased development capacity, EmploymentCheck has delivered more than 150 improvements so far this year, clearing backlogs and establishing a consistent cadence of updates that customers can rely on.

Coming Soon

Our team are not stopping there and have already engaged in exciting new developments for the platform, including:

  • InBranch Identity Verification (IBV): Working with the Post Office to offer an inperson alternative for identity checks, giving organisations more flexibility in how verification is completed.
  • A Streamlined Applicant Journey: Reordering the application steps and delivering clearer navigation to make the application process more intuitive and userfriendly.
  • New Integration Capabilities: Building a new API that will allow EmploymentCheck to receive applications directly from our Kent Teach recruitment platform, which is the first step in a broader integration strategy.

Our Vision

Our longterm vision for EmploymentCheck, and HR Connect more broadly, is to make the journey from recruitment through to employment simpler, more connected and easier for customers to manage. By improving the way our systems work together, we can reduce duplication, improve the flow of information, strengthen compliance, and give customers a more consistent and efficient service.

Because we design and develop this capability ourselves, we can respond more quickly to changing requirements, shape improvements around real customer needs, and provide greater assurance over quality, consistency and longterm stability.
