Key people strategies for Schools and Academy Trusts
You can rely on HR Connect for all your HR needs.

Courses and Webinars
HR Connect provides a range of training and development services including a programme of courses and webinars.
School’s and Academies are essentially service providers, and the defining factor in providing a service is the People who provide this service. Whilst much of School life is driven and defined outside of individual School’s and Academies, the experience of working within a specific School or Academy is the responsibility of School Leaders.
It is not enough to simply react to legislative changes, and individual needs, to create an truly inspiring and engaging School or Academy both for employees, students and the wider community, School Leaders need to be confident in their vision and belief in the environment they are creating and the team they are building.
The starting point of which is a robust and meaningful People Strategy incorporating:

- Recruitment and Retention
- Flexible First
- Employee Wellbeing
- Employee Engagement
- Reward and Recognition
- Talent Management and Professional Development
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

All of which is underpinned by the 4 C’s:
-
- Commitment
- Communication
- Collaboration
- Continuous review
Your People Strategy is your organisational blueprint focused on your most important (and usually most costly) asset; your People. An effective People Strategy will define what is important to you, your school and the People within your School, which in turn will illustrate how you will provide the best service to your key stakeholders, yourselves, your students and the wider community.

Employee engagement strategy and techniques
Employee engagement measures your people’s experience of working in your school or academy, everyone’s experience will be unique and we all have good and not so good days at work, and whilst these can fluctuate, our feeling of engagement is more linear.
Employee engagement identifies how emotionally invested people are in their work and how aligned they are to the organisational culture. Employee engagement shouldn’t be confused with employee happiness, which is often a relatively short term response to an isolated incident. Likewise employee satisfaction and even employee wellbeing which although important are not necessarily indicators of employee engagement.

An engaged employee is motivated, driven to succeed not just for themselves but for the team and the organisation around them. Engaged employees are aligned to the organisational culture and by the very nature of their engagement become advocates of the organisation.
We can work with you to identify where on the scale from engaged to actively disengaged your employees are and develop your employee engagement strategy to drive employee engagement.
