Improved Occupational Health Service from Staff Care Services

Staff Care Services are proud to support our customers and their employee’s with their workplace health and wellbeing. We have been delivering our occupational health services to the education sector for over 30 years and we know the complexities and types of roles, demands of the job and how to best support those working in schools. We also appreciate how much of an impact it can have, both in the classroom and beyond, when an employee’s health is impacting their job, or when their work is impacting their health; which is why we are committing to deliver a faster, more responsive service as part of our new SLA.

From November 2025, Staff Care Services have committed to provide clinical appointments within 10 working days of a completed referral, that’s twice as fast as our old SLA. Our fast-tracks are also even faster, for those urgent cases, we will provide an appointment in just 5 working days!

In the UK, the HSE records show that in 2024/25 over 1.9million work related illnesses were reported, an increase of over 11% from the year before and almost half were mental health and workplace stress related. It’s no surprise that wait times for clinical appointments are on the increase, with average GP wait times at 19 days and some OH providers quoting up to 30 days for an appointment. The demand for workplace health and wellbeing services has never been higher, which is why our in-house team of occupational health advisors (nurses) and physicians (doctors) as well as our carefully selected clinical specialists are on hand to keep our wait times low and the quality of service high. At Staff Care Services we aim to buck the trend and provide the support that’s needed faster than ever.

This improved SLA is only a small part of the wider improvements that have been happening behind the scenes this year. In 2025 we have obtained our SEQOHS accreditation, the gold standard of OH service delivery, we have invested in new and improved systems, and have expanded our in-house clinical team, to ensure we continue to deliver a quality service, that offers value for money, and is committed to our customers.

With more developments to come to the service 2026, I am sure you will agree the future is bright for Staff Care Services, our customers and their employees.
