Pupil Wellbeing – Introducing PeerChat
Support Line is proud to offer a whole school approach when it comes to wellbeing. Our service support your staff, your governors and your pupils.
As a Support Line customer, your pupils have access to a 24/7 text support service that is anonymous and free to use. There are no age limits to this service, the user just needs access to a UK mobile phone provider.
In addition to the text support, via our partnership with Mental Health Innovations we are pleased to promote a new service……PeerChat. PeerChat is a new one-to-one digital peer support service for young people aged 16 to 25 years old delivered by the charity The Mix
What is PeerChat?
PeerChat offers bookable 45-minute webchat sessions with trained young peer supporters, providing a safe, confidential space for young people to talk through challenges they may be facing, from mental health and relationships to stress, identity and day-to-day worries. The service has been developed and co-designed with young people, in response to growing demand for more human, relatable support, particularly for those who may feel uncomfortable accessing traditional helplines or clinical services.
PeerChat is a one-time service, available for each young person once every 12 months.
Sessions are available Monday to Wednesday between 1-7pm, and Thursday to Friday between 3-9pm. Appointments must be pre-booked.
If you know of a young person in your school who would benefit from this service, please book an appointment via this link PeerChat | The Mix
